New technology has changed the delivery and reception of literature today. The "delivery" of literature has evolved in that now it can be placed online and a wider audience can receive it. Different websites allow better reception of the literature by the audience. I feel that these new ways of delivery help improve reception of the literature, especially in comparison to the plainly written poems on the poetryfoundation.org site. For example, some websites allow for interactive reading of literature, creating a back and forth between the reader and the author/creator. Other websites use tools such as java to allow the reader to interact with just the literature. There are also websites that let the creator of the literature deliver their work verbally to have more control on how the audience might receive it. For example, YouTube allows for people who perform poems such as "Yellow Rage", to put emphasis on certain words. For example, I was able to feel the emotions of the two lady more, than what I would have felt from just reading it off a page. Also, on YouTube was the poem "The The Impotence of Reading" I was able to find the points of sarcasm easier than if I were to just read them myself. Another change is that more interpretations of literature are available for people to read in order to better understand possible messages. In the future, literature may be more easily available to audiences in more locations than previously and today. Also, in the future literature may express more views that are currently banned in certain places, allowing for more freedom of speech. I would most like to see this change because I believe that everyone is entitled to freedom of speech. It gives a healthy outlet for expression, which many people do not have.
